Sargent's Mission Statement

Sargent Memorial Presbyterian Church’s mission is to be a faith-based community ministry that uplifts, strengthens, and empowers. We seek to spread the message of Jesus Christ to all through our transformational ministries, acts of community service, Christian education, and great music.

We were founded with, and continues to be guided by, three foundational principles: Serving God, Loving People, and Impacting Our Community.

It is our responsibility and calling to follow, and abide by God’s will. It is not enough that we mentally recognize that there is a God, but we must do what God has commanded us to do.

It is our duty to show the same empathetic, selfless, and unconditional love to everyone as God has shown to us. We strive to embrace everyone from all walks of life as we are all a part of the body of Christ.

As we follow in Jesus’ footsteps, we aim to uplift, move and inspire those around us through service and charity. Our goal is to strengthen and improve our community, both near and far, to be the best version of itself.

Thus, we must be willing and open to accepting these experiences that God has laid out for us.

  • Service

Our duty is to embody the spirit of service within our church, following the example of Jesus Christ, who came not to be served, but to serve. We are committed to reach out with compassion and humility to those in need, both within our church community and beyond.
