What does Sargent Believe?

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." — Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV)

Sargent's Mission Statement

Engaging, Stewarding, Uniting, Transforming

Responding to God's call to do a new thing, Sargent Memorial Presbyterian Church cultivates transformed and growing discipleship, inclusively engaging our community and stewarding our resources to forge new pathways for God's kingdom to flourish.

We are dedicated to nurturing profound spiritual development, inclusively equipping every individual for a lifelong journey of faith, and fostering continuous growth through engaged participation in Christ-like maturity.

  • Inspired by God’s new work, we creatively and wisely manage our resources, including our church space, to foster inclusive community engagement and build impactful partnerships that bring holistic renewal and extend God’s kingdom.

Trusting in God’s unchanging character, we remain flexible and responsive to His leading, willing to “forget the former things” when necessary to follow where He is making a new way, ensuring all voices are heard and engaged in our journey.
