Faith, Justice, and Joy: A Journey of Radical Welcome
A 4-Part Video Series | June 2026
This June, as we celebrate the beautiful diversity of God’s creation, our congregation is embarking on a 4-part worship and reflection series: "Faith, Justice, and Joy: A Journey of Radical Welcome." Rooted deeply in the Black church tradition of liberation and our Presbyterian heritage of ongoing renewal, this short video series invites us to move from passive welcome to active, intentional affirmation of our LGBTQIA+ siblings. Each Sunday, we will ground our hearts in scripture, reflect on our denominational journey, and explore practical ways to ensure our sanctuary is a place where every soul is safe, celebrated, and whole.
We are proud to base our reflection on the profound theological and advocacy work of pioneering organizations like The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries (TFAM), More Light Presbyterians (MLP), and the National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC).
Join us each week in worship as we broaden our tables, deepen our love, and strive to mirror the radical hospitality of Jesus Christ.

The Gospel of Radical Inclusivity
Part 1 (June 7):
We kick off our series by grounding our hearts in the Black church tradition of liberation. Drawing inspiration from the theology of The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries (TFAM), we explore how Jesus didn't build walls, but rather a longer table where God's grace is open to everyone without exception.

Part 2 (June 14)
As Presbyterians, we believe in a church that is "reformed and always being reformed." This week, we look at our own denomination’s history and church covenant, highlighting the incredible milestones achieved through More Light Presbyterians to ensure marriage equality and ordination are open to all of God's called leaders.

The Beautiful Intersection: Black, Queer, and Beloved
Part 3 (June 21)
To be Black and queer is to stand at a uniquely powerful intersection of faith and identity. Guided by the Confession of Belhar and resources from the National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC), we discuss why our fight for racial justice must unequivocally include and celebrate our Black LGBTQIA+ and Same-Gender Loving siblings.
