June Weekly Devotional
Week 1: "The Valley Doesn't Define Me"
Reflection
Everyone experiences valleys. Some valleys come through loss, disappointment, sickness, financial hardship, or seasons when God feels distant. In Ezekiel’s vision, the prophet stands in a valley filled with dry bones—a picture of hopelessness and despair. Yet God asks a surprising question: “Can these bones live?”
The question wasn’t about the condition of the bones. It was about the power of God. The valley represented death, but God saw possibility. The bones represented defeat, but God saw restoration.
Whatever valley you find yourself in today, remember that your location is not your identity. Your struggles may describe your current situation, but they do not define who you are. God has the final word over your life.
Devotional Thought
Your valley is a chapter of your story, not the title of your story.
God specializes in bringing purpose out of pain and hope out of hopeless situations. The same God who saw life in dry bones sees promise in you.
Prayer for the Week
Heavenly Father, thank You that my circumstances do not define me. When I feel overwhelmed by life’s valleys, help me remember that You are still present and working. Give me faith to trust Your promises even when I cannot see the outcome. Remind me that my identity is found in You and not in my struggles. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Actions Steps
- Identify one valley you are currently facing and write it down.
- Find three Scriptures that remind you of God's faithfulness.
- Begin each day by declaring: "My valley does not define me; God does."
- Share a testimony of God's faithfulness with someone this week.
