Project Genesis!

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here."

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

Renewed in Faith. Reimagined for the Future.

Project Genesis is a multi-year journey of renewal, prayerful discernment, and faithful action at Sargent. Born out of a comprehensive Congregational Assessment, this initiative represents a new chapter in the life of our church—one rooted in listening, reflection, and openness to the direction God is leading us.

At the heart of Project Genesis are monthly themed sermon series, supported and extended through weekly devotionals that invite deeper personal reflection and spiritual practice throughout the week. Alongside these offerings, thoughtfully designed Bible studies such as Wine & the Word and our Lenten series create space for meaningful conversation, learning, and connection.

Project Genesis also embraces holistic discipleship through ministries and events like Faith & Fitness classes, health fairs, movie nights, and other community-centered gatherings. Together, these spiritual, educational, and relational opportunities are shaping a renewed vision for Sargent—one grounded in Scripture, guided by the Spirit, and committed to cultivating a vibrant, welcoming, and faithful future for generations to come.

  • February Sermon Series: "Temporary Setbacks, Eternal Glory!"

As we move into Black History Month, this series affirms that temporary suffering can’t overshadow eternal strength. Paul reminds the Corinthians that “our light affliction is but for a moment.” February is about endurance… how our stories, like those of our ancestors, show that God uses adversity as the womb of victory. These scriptures teach that pain is not wasted; it’s working for our glory. The tone here is both encouraging and resilient grounded in hope and the testimony of God’s sustaining power.
